Despite recent struggles, Bears begin Week 10 as favorites over Patriots
The Chicago Bears are playing their worst football of the season, but they’re still favored in Week 10 over the New England Patriots.
The Chicago Bears are on the opposite of a heater right now. They’re ice-cold after embarrassingly losing the last two games. Week 8’s Hail Mary defeat to the Washington Commanders felt like a low point for the season, but Sunday’s 29-9 loss to the Arizona Cardinals somehow felt worse.
Maybe it’s because the Bears never had a chance against Kyler Murray, James Conner, and the Cardinals’ suddenly awoken pass rush. A chess-playing defensive coordinator once again outsmarted Shane Waldron’s checkers’ gameplan, and it all amounted to Caleb Williams looking like a broken young quarterback who was seeing ghosts.
It’s been a bad two weeks for Chicago, but there is some good news. They can get right in Week 10 against the New England Patriots, who are tied with the NFL’s worst record at 2-7.
The Bears, who sport a 4-4 record (which should be considered a positive but is somehow a negative), are favored by the always-smart oddsmakers. The Vegas power players still believe in Williams and his cast of characters to get the win over the Patriots in pretty decisive fashion. Chicago is a 6-point favorite.
The Patriots enter Week 10 ranked 30th in offense (15.7 points per game), 32nd in passing offense (153.8 yards per game), and 24th in rushing offense (111 yards per game). Simply put, the Bears’ defense should feast on Drake May and company.

Granted, Patriots fans could say the same thing about their matchup with the Bears, who don’t rank much better. Chicago is 19th in points scored, 29th in passing offense, and 23rd in rushing offense.
If you’re a fan of defense, you’re going to love this game.
