Brian Urlacher’s favorite Chicago Bears QB might surprise you
Chicago Bears Hall of Fame linebacker Brian Urlacher played with a lot of quarterbacks during his tenure with the team.
I mean, a lot.
Urlacher played 13 seasons with the Bears and experienced more than 20 QBs roll through the starting lineup in Chicago.
It appeared like Urlacher’s long and winding quarterback journey came to an end in 2009 when Chicago traded for Jay Cutler, the young gunslinging franchise passer who was expected to break the vicious cycle of failed Bears QBs.
And while Cutler definitely had some quality moments in Chicago, his career .500 record sums up his tenure perfectly.
So maybe it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Brian Urlacher didn’t pick Cutler as his choice for the best quarterback he ever played with.
Instead, his choice? Kyle Orton.
Check it out:
Orton played three seasons with the Chicago Bears, compiling a 21-12 record as a starter over that time. He was part of the trade that brought Cutler to the Bears, and failed to have the same success with the Broncos that he had in Chicago.
He ended his time with the Broncos with 12 wins and 21 losses.
