NFL News: Jets QB Justin Fields carted to locker room with leg injury
This is the kind of training camp news we hate to see.
New York Jets starting quarterback, and former Chicago Bears first-round pick, Justin Fields, was carted to the locker room during the team’s training camp practice on Thursday with what’s been described as a leg injury.
“Jets QB Justin Fields was just carted back into the locker room,” Fox Sports’ Ralph Vacchiano tweeted. “He was riding in the front seat and got up to limp inside when the cart stopped. It appeared, from a distance, to be his right foot/leg. Jets coach Aaron Glenn is scheduled to speak after practice.”

Fields signed a two-year, $40 million contract with the Jets this offseason. With no legitimate competition for the QB1 job on the roster, he was set to reclaim his standing as one of the NFL’s top dual-threat starters.
Justin Fields started six games for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024, going 4-2 over that stretch with 1,106 passing yards, five touchdowns, and one interception. He ran for five touchdowns as well.
