Critical flaw in Chicago Bears’ offense exposed ahead of 2025 season (News)

The Chicago Bears released their first official injury report for Monday night’s regular-season opener against the Minnesota Vikings, and as usual, there’s both good news and bad news.

There was no actual practice held by the Bears on Thursday, but they still released a list based on projected levels of participation for injured players.

The bad news? Three players were given the “did not participate” designation: Linebacker T.J. Edwards (hamstring), running back Roschon Johnson (foot), and defensive back Josh Blackwell (groin).

On the positive side, defensive lineman Dominique Robinson (oblique) and wide receiver Devin Duvernay (hamstring) were both projected as full participants, while cornerback Jaylon Johnson (calf/groin) and running back Kyle Monangai (hamstring) were both designated as limited participants.

Jaylon Johnson is obviously the biggest name on the list, as the star cornerback works his way back from multiple injuries that have held him back in recent weeks. Here’s hoping the extra day preparing for a Monday night matchup will give him enough time to get back to full strength, or at least healthy enough to take the field against the Vikings to start the season.

With Roschon Johnson getting the DNP tag, it makes Monangai’s status even more important as the Bears move through the rest of the week. If Johnson is unable to go Monday night, the rookie out of Rutgers could see an increased role behind D’Andre Swift if he’s healthy enough to dress.

All that considered, things could definitely be worse for the Bears from an injury standpoint as they prepare to host their NFC North rivals to kick off their 2025 campaign.
