Bears inactives: Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon OUT vs. Vikings
The Chicago Bears’ defensive backfield will be shorthanded Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Chicago Bears will be shorthanded in the defensive backfield Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings.
Cornerbacks Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon are both inactive for the regular-season home opener in Week 1, the team announced.
Reports had already indicated that Johnson would miss Monday night’s game due to multiple injuries (calf, groin), but with Gordon also out, that leaves the Bears without two of their top three corners as they prepare to face one of the NFL’s most explosive wide receivers in Minnesota’s Justin Jefferson.
Adding to the trouble for the defense, linebacker T.J. Edwards is also inactive for Monday night’s game.
These three missing starters on defense will only put more pressure on Ben Johnson, Caleb Williams and the Bears offense to put up enough points to cover for what could be a long night when Minnesota has the ball.
