Chicago Bears
WATCH: This Caleb Williams-Rome Odunze connection was ridiculous
This throw and catch from Caleb Williams to Rome Odunze was a thing of beauty.
Monday night’s regular-season opener didn’t end on a positive note for the Chicago Bears, as they squandered a two-score lead in the fourth quarter and couldn’t mount a late comeback of their own in a 27-24 home loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
But despite the disappointing finish, there were still a handful of moments throughout the game that should have Bears fans excited for the rest of the 2025 season and beyond.
One of them was this incredible connection from quarterback Caleb Williams to wide receiver Rome Odunze:
What’s that? You wanted a better angle?
We got you:
On one end, you’ve got Williams making a challenging throw on the run right before running out of room on the sideline. On the other, you’ve got Odunze reeling in that laser of a pass while dragging both feet to stay in bounds to secure the catch.
There were plenty of missed connections from Williams on Monday night, and those are the ones that will keep him and Bears fans up at night the rest of the week, wondering what could have been. But throws (and catches) like these are why the Chicago faithful should still be thrilled about the potential this QB-WR combo brings to the table, and how many moments like this they’re going to deliver over the next decade or more.
