Bears injury report: Positive news for Week 2 matchup
Things are looking good for a pair of Chicago Bears starters heading into Week 2.
The Chicago Bears are already hard at work putting last week’s crushing loss behind them, and there are some positive developments on the injury report as they prepare for Week 2.
The latest updates following Thursday’s practice include good news on multiple key starters, while others are still working their way back to full strength.
Cornerback Jaylon Johnson (calf/groin) was a full participant Thursday, as was wide receiver DJ Moore (abdomen/groin). Johnson missed Monday night’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings, while Moore was injured late in the game, though he did return to the field for the final handful of plays.
There’s still some bad news for the defense in the injury department, as defensive back Kyler Gordon (hamstring) and defensive lineman Grady Jarrett (knee) have still yet to practice this week. Linebacker T.J. Edwards (hamstring), defensive back Josh Blackwell (groin), running back Roschon Johnson (foot) and wide receiver Jadhae Walker (ankle) were all limited participants in practice again Thursday, after all having the same designation on Wednesday’s projected report.
Now 0-1 on the season after a division loss to start the year, the Bears have a crucial road test this week against another NFC North rival in the Detroit Lions, who are coming off a disappointing division defeat of their own last week against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
