Report: Bears CB Jaylon Johnson out indefinitely with groin injury
The Chicago Bears will be without their star cornerback for an extended period of time, per multiple reports.
Jaylon Johnson’s return to the Chicago Bears’ starting lineup will be short-lived.
Johnson is “out indefinitely” after re-aggravating his groin injury during Sunday’s ugly road loss to the Detroit Lions, per multiple reports:
Johnson spent most of training camp and the preseason working his way back from multiple injuries, the groin ailment among them. After missing Week 1, Johnson was able to practice last week and return to the lineup Sunday. He left in the second quarter, and it looks like he’s set to miss significant time.
This development will put more pressure on Tyrique Stevenson as the Bears’ new CB1 with Johnson out of the lineup, while Kyler Gordon has been dealing with injuries of his own, missing Sunday’s game and leaving Chicago with a void in the slot/nickel role.
Sunday’s game was a rough watch for Bears fans, especially for the defense. With Johnson on the shelf for the foreseeable future, it doesn’t look like things are going look any better for a while.
