The Chicago Bears had two top-10 picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, and they used them to bolster their offense with a new franchise quarterback in Caleb Williams, and a blue-chip receiver in Rome Odunze.

After showing flashes of their lofty potential together as rookies last season, the tandem has taken things to another level in Year 2.

Despite a rocky start for the team overall on their way to an 0-2 record, the connection between Williams and Odunze has flourished. Even in last week’s embarrassing road loss to the Detroit Lions, this pair delivered big plays all game long:

The fact that Williams and Odunze already look this good together just two games into their first season in Ben Johnson’s offense is an encouraging sign, and Bears fans need as many bright spots as possible after this ugly 0-2 start, with both losses coming against NFC North opponents.

Odunze leads the Bears with 13 receptions for 165 yards, and he’s the only player to catch a touchdown pass from Williams so far this season (he’s got three). He’s clearly Williams’ favorite target, too, leading the team with 20 targets through two games.

Considering both players are just 23 years old, the future is plenty bright for the Bears offense, despite the team’s early struggles overall to start the 2025 season.
