Rome Odunze joins Walter Payton with this impressive feat
Chicago Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze is already finding himself in rare company in his second NFL season.
When you’re on the same list as Walter Payton, you know you’re doing something right.
That’s the case for Chicago Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze, who is off to a blazing start in his second NFL season, finding the end zone in each of his first four games so far.
The last player in Bears history to accomplish that feat? You guessed it, Sweetness himself:
The No. 10 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of the University of Washington, Odunze showed flashes of his lofty potential as a rookie, but he’s come out of the gates with a fury in Year 2. Through the first four games of this season, Odunze has 20 receptions for 296 yards, and leads the entire NFL with five touchdown receptions.
Even with a ton of talented weapons around him in the Chicago offense, Odunze has quickly established himself as Caleb Williams’ favorite target in the passing game, and one of the most dynamic young playmakers in the league.
