Luther Burden III earning more trust from Ben Johnson
Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Luther Burden is making the most of his opportunities, and is primed for a breakout.
The Chicago Bears spent a top-40 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on wide receiver Luther Burden III, and it looks like his time is arriving.
After a slow start to his rookie season, Burden has slowly gotten more opportunities in recent weeks, and he’s making the most of them.
That increase in production is clearly convincing Bears head coach Ben Johnson that the Missouri product is deserving of more touches:
Burden is in rare company across the rest of the league so far this year when it comes to maximizing his chances when the ball comes his way:
There are plenty of mouths to feed in the Bears offense right now, and Burden isn’t even the highest-drafted pass-catcher in this year’s class for Chicago. But the team clearly placed a high value on him during the draft, and it looks like he’s just scratching the surface of what he can do in this offense.
Don’t be surprised if we see a breakout performance in the near future, and a much bigger role for Burden moving forward.
