Kevin Byard talks Eagles win, Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams
Chicago Bears safety Kevin Byard breaks down Friday night’s huge road win, and what he’s seen from his head coach and quarterback.
The Chicago Bears have been the biggest surprise in the NFL this season, currently owning a 9-3 record and the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoff bracket.
Ben Johnson has been a superstar in his first season as head coach, while Caleb Williams has the offense humming in his sophomore campaign.
Big plays have been the recipe for success on defense, led by veteran All-Pro safety Kevin Byard, who leads the NFL with six interceptions.
On a recent appearance on SiriusXM, Byard talked about the Bears’ massing road win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Black Friday, as well as what Johnson and Williams have done for the offense:
There are plenty of young playmakers on both sides of the ball sparking Chicago’s success this season, but the presence of experienced leaders like Byard will continue to be essential if they want to make a deep postseason run and build long-term culture change.
Byard has been a massive addition for the defense on the field, and his leadership has been just as vital to the locker room.
