Studs and duds from Chicago Bears’ incredible Week 16 win over Packers
The Chicago Bears pulled off an incredible Week 16 overtime win over the Green Bay Packers. Here are the week’s studs and duds.
DUD: Bears’ pass rush
For nearly four quarters, the Chicago Bears’ pass rush was nonexistent.
Yes, Montez Sweat stepped up on the final drive of the fourth quarter to sack Malik Willis. And, yes, TJ Edwards and Austin Booker shared a sack, too. But Jordan Love and Malik Willis had way too much time to find open targets and drive the ball down the field.
Willis, in particular, completed 9-of-11 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown against the Bears. It’s the kind of performance that Chicago’s defense can’t allow to happen as we inch closer to the playoffs.
Quarterbacks like Brock Purdy, Jared Goff (the Bears’ final two opponents), and whoever they face in the playoffs won’t be as mistake-prone as Willis turned out to be in overtime.
