Caleb Williams is already doing something few Bears quarterbacks ever have
Caleb Williams is already accomplishing something rare for a Chicago Bears quarterback, and Bears fans couldn’t be any happier.
Chicago Bears fans don’t ask for much. How could they? After years of failed quarterbacks, head coaches, and losing seasons, most of today’s Bears Nation only had the NFL Draft to look forward to.
That’s all changed in 2025. The Bears are 11-4 and have quickly become the darlings of the NFL. The team that was once viewed as fool’s gold is now in first place in the NFC North and considered a viable Super Bowl contender.
The main reason for this turnaround is obvious: Ben Johnson.
The league’s top coaching candidate of the last decade has proved to be worth every penny of the massive five-year, $65 million contract Chicago paid to secure him. He’s transformed not only the culture inside the locker room but also Caleb Williams’ play on the field.
And it’s those on-field results that have every player on this roster and every fan in Soldier Field believing this Bears team can achieve the previously unthinkable.
Caleb Williams’ success vs. Packers changes everything
Perhaps that belief stems from the Bears’ recent success against the Green Bay Packers. Specifically, Caleb Williams’ success against the Packers.

Williams already has as many wins against Green Bay in his first two seasons as Jay Cutler had in eight. He has more wins over the Cheeseheads than both Justin Fields and Mitchell Trubisky combined.
Indeed, that may seem like an insignificant stat to the average fan, but Bears fans get it. They know what this means. And with how ‘Iceman’ won Week 16’s game in overtime? Yep, it’s easy to believe that this team can win any game.
With Johnson and Williams tied together at the hip, anything is possible.
“We both have the same goals,” Johnson said of Williams this week. “We both care deeply about this team, we care deeply about this city, and I care deeply about his success as well. He understands that now at this point. What I’ve grown to love about him, and I hope he would echo the same thing, I think we’re mentally very similar. We share a lot of the same competitive drive, and we think the same way in a lot of regards.”
