Bears’ Colston Loveland shares epic Ben Johnson quote before Wild Card round
Chicago Bears tight end Colston Loveland shared an epic quote from Ben Johnson about the team’s mindset ahead of Wild Card game vs. Packers.
The Chicago Bears are knee-deep in their preparations for their Wild Card matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night, and head coach Ben Johnson is all business.
Just ask rookie tight end Colston Loveland.
“(Ben Johnson) said if you’re not prepared to play the next five weeks, you’re thinking about anything else, you’re thinking about booking flights for vacation, don’t come in,” Loveland said. “He made it very clear about what’s at stake and what this team is looking for.”
If that doesn’t get you fired up, nothing will.

Ben Johnson proved quickly in 2025 that he’s more than just an incredible play-caller; he’s a rare leader and culture builder. He flipped the Chicago Bears from the worst team in the NFC North to the division’s champions in just one season.
To call it a remarkable accomplishment would be an understatement.

It helps to have a championship veteran like Joe Thuney on the roster, too. He echoed some of Johnson’s thoughts and shared the traits of Super Bowl winners he’s been a part of.
“I think kind of just the overall selflessness of teams,” Thuney said. “It doesn’t matter who gets the yards or touchdowns or who has good stats or who doesn’t. All that matters is that we want to win. It doesn’t matter how we win, what it looks like. Offense, defense, special teams we’re a whole unit going after them. … Everyone’s trying to play for each other and it doesn’t matter how we win or what it looks like. Everyone wants to win and I think that’s really important. Just want to play for each other.”
That certainly sounds like this year’s Chicago Bears. It’s a team that’s fought for each other to the final whistle, and it’s why they’ve been the beneficiary of several come-from-behind victories.
Now, it’s up to Ben Johnson, Caleb Williams, and the rest of Chicago’s stars to bring home the win.
