Ben Johnson won’t let Bears use sideline heaters during practice
Despite frigid conditions, Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson is making sure his players will be prepared in every way for this week’s playoff game.
The weather for this week’s playoff game is going to be frigid, and head coach Ben Johnson will have his Chicago Bears prepared.
As they get ready for this week’s divisional-round matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, Johnson isn’t letting his team use sideline heaters in practice.
That’s according to veteran safety Kevin Byard III, who relayed the story to reporters earlier this week:
This might not be much fun for the Bears during the week, but come Sunday, they’ll be more prepared to endure the elements during the game. That could be a massive advantage against a Rams team making the long road trip from Southern California.
Johnson is clearly leaving no stone unturned when it comes to preparing his team for a massive game that could send them to the NFC title game. It would be their first appearance since 2010, and an upset win by the San Francisco 49ers over the Seattle Seahawks in that scenario would allow the Bears to host that matchup.
Considering all that’s on the line here, Johnson is doing everything he can to ensure victory.
