Bears waste another iconic Caleb Williams moment in loss to Rams
Caleb Williams delivered another epic moment in the clutch, but it didn’t matter in the end for the Chicago Bears on Sunday night.
Caleb Williams did it again, delivering another incredible moment to send the Chicago Bears to overtime in pursuit of an NFC title game appearance.
But this fourth-down magic won’t go down in Bears history, because the team failed to capitalize on the opportunity.
Williams’ incredible touchdown pass to Cole Kmet in the final seconds of regulation showed off all the reasons why the Bears made him the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft:
The Bears had plenty of opportunities to win it in overtime, but Williams was intercepted by Kam Curl deep in Rams territory, setting up what would eventually be Los Angeles’ game-winning drive.
This season was full of epic moments for Williams and the Bears, the future is still mighty bright under Ben Johnson in Chicago. But this one will sting for a while because of what could’ve been.
