Bears lose assistant GM Ian Cunningham to Falcons
Chicago Bears assistant GM Ian Cunningham is leaving the team to be the new general manager of the Atlanta Falcons.
The Chicago Bears are losing one of their top personnel executives to a team in their own conference.
Assistant general manager Ian Cunningham is taking the Atlanta Falcons’ general manager job, per multiple reports:
Cunningham served in multiple roles with the Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles before joining Bears GM Ryan Poles in Chicago in 2022. After three seasons, he now heads to Atlanta, where he’ll work under former Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, who was recently named the team’s head of football operations.
This move leaves the Bears with a big hole near the top of their personnel staff. It’ll be interesting to see how Poles approaches the situation, and who replaces Cunningham in his former role.
