If every NFL play-caller had a quarterback with Caleb Williams’ talent, their lives would be much easier.

That’s how Chicago Bears head coach and offensive genius Ben Johnson feels about having No. 18 calling the shots in the huddle and behind center, at least.

Following Williams’ near-flawless performance in Sunday’s big win over the Dallas Cowboys, Johnson praised his second-year quarterback, telling the media that Williams’ rare talent and playmaking ability means he doesn’t have to be perfect when it comes to his own job:

Williams threw or 298 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions Sunday, leading the Bears to their first win of the season, and the first for Johnson as their new head coach.

It was a critical win for a team that opened the season with back-to-back losses to division rivals in crushing fashion, and it gave Bears fans a glimpse of the possibilities for an offense called by Johnson and executed by Williams.

Considering that was only the third game for that pairing, the future looks mighty bright for the Bears.
