Critical flaw in Chicago Bears’ offense exposed ahead of 2025 season (News)

The Chicago Bears’ Week 7 victory over the New Orleans Saints was big for the entire franchise, but one member of the coaching staff enjoyed it more than anyone else.

Defensive coordinator Dennis Allen was fired by the Saints last year, halfway through his third season as the team’s head coach. Prior to landing the head job, Allen had served as the Saints’ defensive coordinator for the previous seven seasons under Sean Payton.

Sunday’s showdown gave Allen the opportunity to get a little revenge on the team that fired him after nearly a decade of service, and his unit rose to the occasion.

The Bears’ defense tallied four sacks and four takeaways on their way to a 26-14 home victory, the team’s fourth straight win.

After the game, Allen got the game ball from Bears head coach Ben Johnson, and had a speech ready for his players:

Congrats to Allen and his defense for a dominant performance, especially against the team that showed him the door in the middle of last season.

After four straight wins, it looks like this Bears team is starting to fire on all cylinders in every phase of the game. With the talent on this roster, and the improvements across the entire coaching staff, the sky’s the limit for Chicago in 2025 and beyond.
