Ben Johnson loves what he’s seeing from Bears OL in run game
The Chicago Bears have been dominant on the ground lately, and head coach Ben Johnson knows the offensive line is setting the tone.
The Chicago Bears have been dominant on the ground since coming out of their bye week, averaging just over 180 yards rushing per game.
While running back D’Andre Swift has gotten the most praise for that jump in production (much of it deserved), it’s the offensive line that has Bears head coach Ben Johnson impressed.
NFL Network’s Stacey Dales referenced a conversation she had with Johnson this week about the running game, and he specifically called out the physicality he’s seen in the trenches:
When the Bears made multiple moves this offseason to completely rebuild the interior of their offensive line, it wasn’t just to improve the protection in front of Caleb Williams. It was also to bolster the ground game and help balance out the offense, and it’s safe to say we’re seeing that happen over the past two weeks.
Throw in a resurgence from Swift that has included a ton of explosive plays, and you’ve got a recipe for a much-improved rushing attack that has helped set the tone for a four-game winning streak in Chicago.
Here’s hoping they can keep it going Sunday on the road against the Baltimore Ravens.
