Bears lose pass rusher to season-ending injury
The Chicago Bears lost a veteran pass rusher to a season-ending injury in Sunday’s dramatic win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Chicago Bears will have to finish the 2025 season without one of their best pass rushers.
Dayo Odeyingbo suffered a torn Achilles’ tendon during Sunday’s victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, and will miss the rest of the year, per multiple reports:
Odeyingbo signed a three-year, $48-million deal with the Bears in free agency this offseason, but had struggled to produce through the first half of the season. He ends his 2025 campaign with just one sack, along with 21 total tackles, four quarterback hits, and two tackles for loss.
While the Bears defense can hardly afford to lose any more players to injury, the emergence of second-year defensive end Austin Booker should help alleviate the loss of Odeyingbo for the rest of the year.
Here’s hoping Odeyingbo makes a full and swift recovery, and can be back to full strength for the 2026 season.
