Are Bears’ expectations too high, or not high enough?
One member of the sports media thinks the Bears still aren’t getting enough hype.
After a huge offseason full of big moves, the Chicago Bears have built up plenty of buzz for themselves as they head into the 2024 season, with many media outlets pegging them as a potential playoff contender.
But while the long list of offseason additions should obviously make the Bears a much-improved team this season, it makes sense to wonder whether or not it’s too early to expect such a massive turnaround from a team that’s struggled so much in recent years.
Don’t tell that to Nick Wright at Fox Sports, though. He thinks the Bears still aren’t getting enough hype:
Is the hype around the Chicago Bears too high?

That’s certainly a bold take for a team that will be breaking in a new rookie quarterback, even one as talented and highly touted as Caleb Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
The Bears made a ton of new additions in all three phases, as well as some improvements to the coaching staff that should also make them a much better version of themselves this season. It’s still a bold claim to think the dark-horse playoff buzz isn’t a high enough expectation for a team that hasn’t won a playoff game in nearly 15 years.
