Kevin Byard isn’t taking Bears’ special season for granted
Chicago Bears safety Kevin Byard knows that seasons like this don’t happen every year in the NFL, and he’s soaking it all up.
Over a decade spent playing the NFL, Chicago Bears safety Kevin Byard has seen just about everything.
He’s played on some really good teams, and he’s played on some pretty bad ones. He’s seen deep playoff runs and last-place finishes.
Now with the Bears, the two-time All-Pro knows how hard it is to put together the kind of special campaign Chicago is experiencing in 2025. He also knows that nothing is guaranteed beyond the next game, so he’s soaking it all in every step of the way:
At 32 years old, Byard is still proving to be one of the most dynamic playmakers in the entire league. He leads the NFL with six interceptions, and is a huge reason why the Bears are tops in the NFL in takeaways and turnover margin with three weeks left in the regular season.
Who knows how far the Bears will go this season, but with leaders like Byard in place, there’s no reason why they can’t strike while the iron is hot and chase a championship.
